3. For question #2, please outline in detail how your new post addressed the three main objectives as discussed in class. Please outline in detail for each. (9 Marks) 

For the F-Pattern made above, it was made with plain language writing. That’s the goal, but the only way to tell if it was done correctly is by evaluating if a reader can; 

  • Find what they need 
  • For someone who is just visiting our site, they will be greeted by an easy-to-understand, bold title outlining the benefits of choosing Penthouse Garments. The first thing listed clearly in short, concise numbered points is what we provide to each and every customer; our promise. It is clearly outlined and instills initial trust with the consumer. Second, they can easily find what they need right under it, with the product categories (with links when finished) listed in a short, bulleted list. This provides them with a shortcut to get wherever they want, right after reading our statement of positivity and motivation. 
  • Understand it 
  • I would say the layout of this introductory F-Pattern is easy to understand, mostly because of the use of good spacing. It clearly outlines what we offer, and then lists it clearly underneath, so the reader doesn’t have to refer to, or look for anything. Not even the NAV bar is needed in this post, because in the final stages, all the links to categories and products will be provided when you click on the text, making it a simple, seamless experience for every customer. Even the full sentence structures used in some areas are short and quick to the point, making us look better than the competition without having to go into full detail like a pros and cons list. I simply state what we provide, what we’re good at, and then list it underneath in a neater, more concise manner, so no consumer is left confused. By providing flash sales for special occasions, and hashtags/headings related to popular news or occasions in the recent media, consumers can easily understand that we care for their perspective.  
  • Use it to fulfill their purpose 
  • This post is easily used to fulfill the purpose of a consumer. The reason why is because the people who would come to this site would be someone interested in browsing and purchasing the products we offer; there’s no other reason to open a clothing shop. That being said, they now need a clear, concise way to transcend the sales funnel. This is outlined within the second bulleted list, with the product categories. There is no way for them to be confused, because it clearly states what we offer, and has shortcuts to go to those pages with one click, where they can find exactly what they need in a categorized manner. A bonus that helps consumers fulfill their purpose faster, or with more incentive to purchase, is the 20% off sale outlined at the bottom. It shows exactly what the offer entails without using complicated language, and it can generate leads faster than anything else on the introductory home page.
